ALBANY, GA (WALB) - For the first time, appointed officials within the city of Albany will be evaluated on their job performance.
The city commission appoints seven people to their jobs. Those positions include the City attorney, city clerk, assistant clerk, and municipal court judges. Until now, people in those positions haven't been evaluated by the commission.
Commissioner Dorothy Hubbard said, "If we are requiring our department heads to do evaluations, then we ought to do that for the people we appoint. That was our major concern. We are kind of treading on water that is uncharted and so we are looking at the process."
Some of the appointed employees have direct supervisors who will also play a role in the performance evaluation.
