ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Albany State Representative Carol Fullerton is headed to Atlanta for her first legislative session. Fullerton was elected to succeed Freddie Powell Sims in the District 151 seat.
Tuesday, an Albany city commissioner questioned how Fullerton's service as a state legislator will affect her role as a Water, Gas & Light Commissioner. WG&L meets once a month and Commissioner Tommie Postell is concerned that Fullerton will miss meetings for the duration of the legislative session.
Fullerton says she'll make every effort to attend WG&L Meetings and says the board has even talked about changing its meeting times so she can be there. She says there is no legal reason for her to resign from the WG&L board.
