ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Three Dougherty County Commissioners were sworn into office Monday.

Commissioners Lamar Hudgins, Muarlene Edwards and Gloria Gaines were administered their oaths by Probate Judge Nancy Stephenson.

Gaines is serving her first term after being elected to fill the role of Art Searles who died of a heart attack last year. Hudgins has served as commissioner for District 1 since 1993.

District 3 Commissioner Edwards was first elected during a special election in 2007. This will be her first full term.
