LEE COUNTY, GA (WALB) - A distracted teenaged driver slammed into a farm tractor in Lee County.

State Troopers say 19-year-old Adam Hunt reached for a cell phone while driving south on Highway 195 and slammed into this tractor driven by 45-year-old George River.

The tractor flipped into a ditch. Amazingly, the driver of the tractor wasn't injured.

But Hunt and a 17-year old girl in his pickup truck were taken to the hospital.

"The drive of the Toyota pick-up dropped a cell phone reached down to pick his cell phone up, and when he looked back up he was right at the rear of the tractor," said Sgt. Shawn Urquhart, Georgia State Patrol.

Both Hunt and his passenger, 17-year-old Kayla Brown, were wearing seat belts and their injuries were not life threatening.

Hunt will be charged with traveling too fast for conditions.
