TIFT COUNTY, GA (WALB) - A cause has been determined in an accident where two women were killed in Tift County more than a week ago.

It appeared that 33-year-old Melanie Wood was trying to avoid hitting an unknown object when her vehicle overturned on Highway 319 December 19th.

Wood and her passenger 29-year-old Regina Daniels died as a result of that accident. Neither had on their seat belts, and both were ejected from the car.

Wood was an investigator for the Decatur County Sheriff's Department, and Daniels was an EMT in Seminole County.
