ALBANY, GA (WALB) - A 21-year-old Terrell County woman is charged with murder this Christmas Eve and concealing the death of her recently born child.

GBI investigators spent the day using cadaver dogs to sift through debris at the Trans-Waste dump site along Highway 82 in Terrell County.

The Terrell County Sheriff's office got a tip that 21-year-old Samantha Jessie was pregnant. Investigators say she's no longer pregnant and can't account for the child. The search of the Trans-Waste site turned up nothing, but another site gave them enough evidence to charge Jessie with murder.

"We did however develop information as to another potential site of the child's remains which we searched. We have found some bone fragments, I don't know for a fact they're human yet, the crime lab will have to tell us that, but I think we have enough information to warrant charging the mother with murder," said Special Agent Mike Lewis, GBI-Sylvester.

Jessie is being held in the Terrell County Jail.
