Pumpkins survive the drought

October 1, 2002

Sasser- Mark Daniel, owner of Mark's Melon Patch, has been growing pumpkins for fifteen years, and he says not all crops need an abundance of water during the growing season.

"I hate to say it, but ideally dry, kind of semi-dry weather is really ideal if you have irrigation because you can control your water more," says Daniel.

While his pumpkins don't need as much water as some other crops, Daniel says he did have to bring in several thousand gallon tanks to water his land.
