ALBANY, GA (WALB) - About 64 Million Americans are expected to hit the roads for the holidays. And about a quarter of all the travelers are from the Southeast. But most of the folks we spoke to in Albany today said they are staying put.

Jeff Ranew said, "typically we do a lot of traveling and going around to see different family, so we just plan on staying in town this year." Why did you change things up? "Because we can do more for our kids if we spend less on gas."

Willie Cravey said, "I do not travel on the holidays, never have." Why's that? "Too much traffic and you don't know if they're drinking, driving, what not."

The average holiday traveler plans to venture at least 50 miles from home.
