ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Two bold young thieves did thousands of dollars in damage to vehicles at an Albany business early Tuesday and it was all caught on video tape.

The business owner is asking for the public's help to catch these would-be auto thieves. A delivery truck dropped off the Buick Regal, Red Chevrolet Truck, and tan Dodge Truck about 2 this morning in the driveway at the South Georgia Auto Auction. About 3 AM these two thieves boldly walk up and try to steal them.

Owner Danny Acord said "We've learned how to keep them from stealing the vehicles, but it's hard to stop them from busting windows out."

At first they try to break in by kicking the windows, but don't have much luck. So they leave and come back minutes later with the tools for destruction.

Acord said "They've got bricks in their hands. And they are going to throw through the windows. They just broke the window on the Regal."

But there are no keys inside the cars, and the bold thieves can't get them started.

You say watch the guy without his shirt on? Acord said "Yes, he throws a brick through the window, going all the way through and breaking the window on the other side."

After a while they give up and leave.

But it will cost the company at least one thousand dollars to fix the windows that were broken out.

South Georgia Auto Auction has had problems with teens stealing their cars in the past, so they spent thousands of dollars installing state of the art cameras and alarm systems, and a ten foot high electric fence. Now they want you to identify them and help bring them to justice.

Acord said "We hope through us, the Police Department, and WALB we can continue to catch them and stop it."

Acord says thieves who stole cars in the past just took them for joy rides, and then abandoned them when they ran out of gas. These guys didn't even get that far.
