The Arena Football League has canceled its 2009 season but the South Georgia Wildcats are here to stay.

The Wildcats play in the AF2 which is a separate entity and will play 2009 as scheduled.

General Manager Darren McPhail says Wildcat fans need not worry about the future of the AF2 and Mcphail also says some of the AFL players could be employed by the AF2 in 2009.

"There is the opportunity that some AFL veterans some guys that have played in that league could be coming to AF2 markets and I think that that would improve our product. You know, just continue to improve the level of play that we put on the field" said McPhail.

The Wildcats open the 2009 season Saturday, March 21st on the road against the Florida Firecats.
