VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

Last week, Valdosta Patrol Officer Brian Becton was shot while responding to a suspicious person call.

He was shot multiple times by 25 year old Michael Bass. Officer Becton has been released from the hospital and is recovering from his injuries. A return to work date will be determined after a period of recuperation.

Michael Bass remains hospitalized. He injured himself while attempting to flee the area. Upon his release from the hospital, Bass will be taken to the Lowndes County Jail.
