The Flowery Branch Falcons looked like the Atlanta Falcons in the first half at the Georgia Dome.

That is until Cairo's Jonthan Shine intercepted a Falcon pass at the goal line.

The turnover woke up the Syrupmaker offense which marched 97 yards down the field with Angelo Pease throwing a 19-yard touchdown pass to Dewayne Isom to give the Syrupmakers a 7-6 halftime lead.

Shine "When went up and got it and came back to the sidelines everybody congratulated me on the sidelines. after that we took off. we just took off."

The sweetness continued in the second half for the Syrupmakers. Angelo Pease's 78 yard touchdown stretched the Cairo lead to eight points at 14-6.

Flowery Branch showed they were not North Hall.

Connor Shaw found Chris Lipscomb for a long touchdown pass.

A two point conversion from the Falcons tied the game at 14.

Cairo overcame that big play and dominated the 4th quarter.

Pease's 17 yard touchdown pass to James Wilcox broke the tie.

Linebacker Jake Elkins big hit broke the Falcons spirit on a key third down stop.

Reginald Bryant's final touchdown in a Cairo uniform sealed a 28-14 win, undefeated season and state championship for the Syrupmakers.

"These 27 seniors and their coaches I think will remember each other forever. It was a good experience. I don't if it will ever be duplicated because it was one you enjoyed every day going to work i think the kids enjoyed coming to practice" said Cairo head coach Tom Fallaw.

"We have had both feelings. Feeling to lose and the feeling to win. I never want to have that losing feeling no more. We just came out here and the coach said it was going to be a battle. We just battled them all game and came out on top" said Cairo quarterback Angelo Pease.
