ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Students at an Albany Middle School donate $600 and canned food to community charities during their Christmas celebration.

The Albany Middle School choir sang during their Annual White Winter Christmas Program Friday morning.

Since school started this year, the students have raised six hundred dollars and collected several boxes of food.

Today they presented their gifts to the Salvation Army, the SOWEGA Council on Aging, American Cancer Society and the Albany Civil Rights Museum.

Albany Middle School Coach Jesse Massey said "The kids are overjoyed with raising money to give back to the community. It is a part of our community involvement."

This is the 8th year that Albany Middle School students have held their fund and food drive for the local charities.
