VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

Echols county will celebrate its 150th birthday Saturday. A big celebration is planned.

They will offer helicopter rides, food, crafts, and plenty of live music. A parade is scheduled for 3:00

Echols Board of Commissioners member, William R. Roberts, tells us, "We've invited all residents that are willing to come as a family group. Any key organization with the school, with the county... Anybody that wants to participate in the parade. Of course, Santa Claus will be coming to town as well."

The celebration kicks off at 10 AM at the Echols Community Center. Residents encourage visitors to stay through the evening's fireworks display.
