Cyclists ride for charities

September 26, 2002

Albany- A trio of Merck employees are hitting the road for a good cause.

The workers are known as the Merck Miles 250 cyclists. They'll ride their bicycles 250-miles over the next three days to raise money for three local charities, including the Liberty House, a home for AIDS patients and the Southwest Georgia Alzheimer's Association.

Cyclist, Mike Wilson, says he hopes more area companies will implement projects like this. The cyclists are driving to Charleston, South Carolina where they will begin their ride.

They have already raised more than one thousand dollars for the charities.
