BACONTON, GA (WALB) - This area has produced some great baseball players.

Those former college and pro players are invited to take part in the second annual ole timers game this Saturday at Baconton Charter's baseball field.

Bobby Dews with the Atlanta Braves and former Braves player Mike Mordecai will be among former players in action on Saturday.

Baconton Charter baseball coach Bubber Birdsong says it is a lot fun for players to take one more swing, throw one more pitch and to tell one more story from their playing days.

Baconton Charter baseball coach Bubber Birdsong said. "We have got a lot of great names that have come from this area from down here and have gone to play college ball and some minor league ball. Some guys who made it to the big leagues. We are inviting a lot of guys back. We are looking forward to a good crowd. Looks like the rain is going to get out of here and we are looking forward to Saturday."

Batting practice starts at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the Baconton Charter baseball field located on U.S. Highway 19 in Baconton.
