VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -  Valdosta State guard Leschelle Matthews is the Gulf South Conference's eastern division player of the week.

The Lady Blazers junior point guard from Columbus scored 21 points in both VSU wins this weekend.

She also averaged five rebounds, four assists and three steals in those games.

The Lady Blazers are back in action Sunday at 2:00 p.m.  at the VSU Complex against Warner Southern.
