ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Employees with Englewood Health systems got a demonstration of HomMed systems that will soon be placed in the homes of patients who need frequent monitoring of their vital signs.
Patients can weigh themselves, take their blood pressure and blood sugar levels.
All of that information is transmitted to nurses who can notify doctors of any concerns.
"We can send this to the physician so they'll know if the medication that they prescribed is working effectively and the nurses, if the patient is following those instructions so we can communicate with the physician," says Sheri Barlow of Englewood Health Systems.
Englewood Health Systems is the first group in Albany to install HomMed Systems in patients homes.
