Citizen complains about prostitution

September 25, 2002

Bainbridge - A Southwest Georgia city is taking prostitution seriously.

Three weeks ago, the owner of Murphy's Home and Garden Shop complained to Bainbridge city officials about prostitutes hanging around his business.

The city decided to adopt a new ordinance copying the state law.

It allows the city to take control of prosecuting prostitutes at a local level instead of depending on state prosecutors.
