ALBANY, GA (WALB) - If you've got any indoor furniture outdoors in Albany, better move it in or get rid of it.

Starting January First, Code enforcement officers will begin strictly enforcing a new law prohibiting household furniture outside.

The new amendment to the nuisance ordinance says any household appliance... furniture... or furnishing not designed for outdoor use cannot be placed outdoors. The only exception is if the porch is completely enclosed.

"We want new business and industry to come into our town. And this is a community pride issue. We have to look good, so these new businesses want to locate here," said KADB Executive Director Judy Bowles.

Violators could be fined... ordered to do community service... even sentenced to jail time.
