ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Hundreds of lights will serve as a reminder for families who have been touched in some way by cancer.

There were songs, tears and lots of lights Monday night as Phoebe held their 25th "Lights of Love" ceremony. Dozens of people lit candles in honor or memory of loved ones battling cancer or those who have lost the fight.  Then the big tree and star was lit at Phoebe.

Breast Cancer survivor Henrietta Singletary served as the honorary tree lighter.

"Tonight we light the tree in a tribute to caregivers, in honor of those who have been touched by cancer and in memory of those who we lost," said Singletary.

"This isn't just for Phoebe patients. It's for anyone that's been diagnosed with cancer of any type and any family members," said Director of the Carlton Breast Health Center Linda Van der Merwe.

Funds from this year's Lights of Love campaign will help pay for things like furniture and a computer for Phoebe's new Cancer Survivorship Meeting room.
