Albany--Dozens of workers are moving out of the Dougherty County Courthouse.

The Tax Department, Tag Office, City Treasurer, Engineering, Planning and Development Services, and Environmental Health are moving across the street, to the new Central Square Government Complex. Tax Director Denver Hooten says, "We are primarily moving because renamed as judicial building rather than courthouse and we are not a judicial function, so we've got a new place to go."

The Tax and Treasury Departments will occupy most of the first floor of the new building. The offices will be closed either Friday or Monday due to the move, the Tag office will be closed Friday.
