Albany -- An Albany firefighter is back on the job, after suffering second degree burns fighting a blaze over the weekend. Christy Bengis returned to active duty, with bandages on her hands and her thigh. She was burned while fighting a utility room fire on Valley Road Friday night. A gasoline can exploded and Bengis was burned by steam.

Bengis said "It just brought me closer to the job, wanting to be a firefighter." Is it a dangerous job? "Very. I'd have to say it's a dangerous job."

The fire was Bengis' first since graduating from training last week. It came on only her third day of active duty.
