ALBANY, GA (WALB) -Police and prosecutors hope a gang raid in East Albany will send a message to drug dealers and gang members.

Investigators confiscated a large amount of marijuana packaged for sale, a shotgun, a pistol, and gang paraphernalia in the raid on Mitchell Avenue Tuesday.

19-year old Willie Powell, 18-year old Candice Harris, and two juveniles were arrested. Harris' two babies were also in the house.

Powell faces drug and gun charges. He and Harris face reckless conduct charges for endangering the children.

D. A. Investigator Jason Armstrong said "We know citizens in the neighborhood have complained about drugs and prostitution. This is just the tip of the iceberg in what we are going to start doing in that neighborhood. We have heard the citizen's complaints, and they have not fallen on deaf ears."

The two children are being cared for by their grandmother.

Powell and Harris are being held in the Dougherty County Jail.
