Commerce, Tx - Texas A&M University-Commerce senior defensive lineman Ricky Hope was named first team Daktronics All-Super Region 4 on Tuesday.
The Poulan, Georgia native led the Lions with 19.5 tackles for -107 yards to set a new school single-season record in 2008.
He also had 11 sacks for -76 yards to set another school record, recorded seven quarterback hurries and forced six fumbles.
Hope was also named the Lone Star Conference North Division Defensive Player of the Year as well as first team honors for his efforts.
With his first team selection, Hope moves on to the national ballot and consideration for All-American honors.
The team, which is sponsored by Daktronics, Inc., an acknowledged leader in scoring, timing and programmable display systems in voted on by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America.
