ATKINSON COUNTY, GA (WALB) - A man attacked the woman with a hammer at Sonny's Market on Highway 82 east in Atkinson County around nine Sunday night.
The clerk suffered injuries to her head and arms but will be okay.
Investigators say the robber got away with $2500 in cash, but information from witnesses led them to a suspect.
They took him into custody at his home nearby.
They're still working on warrants and haven't released the man's name yet.
