ALBANY, GA (WALB) - What do you get when you combine 450 cups of all purpose flour, 2,650 tablespoons of molasses, and more than 370 cups of brown and white sugar?
It's a 350 pound gingerbread house.
Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital Chef Thomas Wild and his crew began baking over the weekend and Monday got some help from students at Phoebe's The Family Tree daycare program decorating the rather large gingerbread house. Students had a great time adding the trimmings.
"Gumdrops, and M&M's, and a fish," said 5 year old Chef Luke Powell
"It adds some joy to the holiday season and it also helps motivate my culinary staff because we're back there in the kitchen sweating everyday and feeding everybody and it just adds a little cheer to the season," said Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital Chef Thomas Wild.
This is the 25th year for the house that will be on display in Phoebe's main lobby through Christmas.
