ALBANY, GA (WALB) - An Albany woman was struck by a car crossing a busy Albany street as she walked a relative to school.

31-year old Jennifer Ward was crossing West Oglethorpe Boulevard at South McKinley Street about 8:30  Monday morning.

A car pulling out of the Krystal's hit her.

Police say she was walking a young boy to school.

He was not hurt, but Ward was taken by ambulance to a hospital where she was treated and released.

50-year old Lutrell McDufee of Albany was driving the car that hit Ward.

He was cited for improper use of a central lane.
