Ashburn- An Ashburn man charged with threatening to kill the police chief is caught hiding in an attic. Police surrounded a Carlos Drive homeThursday night, after they spotted 21-year-old Tom Whitsett Jr. in the neighborhood and tried to serve a warrant for his arrest. They say he went into the rafters through a hole he made in the ceiling.

He has been wanted for the past two months for aggravated assault from a fight. He had eluded police on a dozen occasions, using a police scanner. He even threatened to kill Ashburn police chief Ben Sumner. He is in the Turner County jail.
