Tallahassee, FL (WALB)
The end of football season has Florida State fans looking forward to spring and Seminole baseball.
FSU fans would love to see Leesburg native Buster Posey back in the Garnet and Gold.
Posey was in Tallahassee Saturday to pick up the Dick Howser Trophy named in honor the late FSU baseball coach.
Called the Heisman Trophy of college baseball, Buster Posey was honored for not only his great play on the field but his leadership, character and academic achivement.
Buster Posey won every major college baseball award in 2008 and was glad to be able to share this special one with FSU fans.
"Losing that first game in regionals and battling back. Having you guys there supporting us and never giving up. Same in supers. Those are the memories all of us will cherish. Thank you for being here and for all of your support" said Posey.
Buster Posey and J.D. Drew are the two FSU players who have won the Dick Howser Trophy.
Posey heads back to Arizona next week to continue his offseason work with the San Francisco Giants.
