ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Members of the Albany Americorps cadet program, prepare and deliver hot meals to the less fortunate.

As part of the program, cadets focus on helping the elderly. Wednesday, they delivered about 30 meals to senior citizens who live in William Binns housing complex. "It means a lot," said George Elder. "I can't afford it, because I don't have a job, but it means a lot."

"We're just trying to give some Thanksgiving plates out to the less fortunate and the elderly," said Cadet Eric McGhee. "Some people that will not be able to cook this Thanksgiving, just trying to think about them during this holiday season."

Cadets raised the money to buy the food by hosting a basketball tournament earlier this month.
