ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The board at Deerfield-Windsor has selected a replacement for retiring Headmaster W. T. Henry.
Henry will retire at the end of this school year, and will help with the transition to the new headmaster Dave Davies. Davies is currently the assistant Headmaster at Dallas' Parish Episcopal School.
He's made three visits to Albany before accepting the job and said it was the parent's and alumni's involvement with the school that helped him decide to take the job.
"We were just so impressed by the warmth of the people the genuineness of everyone at Deerfield-Windsor and we're just very excited to be coming to Albany," he said.
Davies said following Henry's 22 years will be difficult. He says he'll be respectful of everything Henry has done while working on his own strategic plan for the school.
Davies has already started working on the transition and expects to make as many as three more visits to Albany before moving in June with his family.
