ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Albany Police are investigating an overnight armed robbery at a restaurant on Albany's east side. It happened at the 3 Squares Diner on East Oakridge just after 1 A.M.  Wednesday morning.

Four customers and two employees were inside the 24-hour restaurant when a man, his face hidden, entered the diner and pointed a gun at a cashier while demanding money.

He fled the scene on foot with undetermined amount of cash.

Investigators dusted for prints and interviewed witnesses at the scene.

The suspect is described as a black man, 6'0 tall, 200 pounds, last seen wearing a doo-rag over his face with a black stocking cap on his head.

Police plan to review surveillance camera footage to get a clearer description of the suspect.

This robbery comes just a few days after a Subway restaurant was robbed just blocks away from the diner.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Crimestoppers at 229-436-TIPS.
