Albany -- Former Dougherty Middle School coach Dan James plans to appeal the revoking of his teacher's certificate. James' lawyer says he has asked the Professional Standards Commission to delay revoking his teaching certificate, until James appeals their decision to a superior court.
James was found not guilty of molesting several of his students by a jury in criminal court last year. But last week the Professional Standards Comission held a hearing in Atlanta, and ruled James certificate should still be lifted.
James is currently working an administrative job for the School System, with no contact with students.
