Shreveport, La. - Former South Georgia Wildcats head coach Derek Stingley is back in the AF2.
Stingley as expected was named defensive coordinator at Bossier-Shreveport earlier this week.
Stingley turned down the chance to return to the Wildcats two weeks ago where he led the team to the south division title and a second straight playoff berth this year.
Stingley left the team in September to become defensive coordinator of the New Orleans Voodoo in the Arena Football League.
Team owner Tom Benson abruptly folded his AFL team in October.
Wildcats general manager Darren McPhail says the team is close to naming a head coach and announcement will happen within the next two weeks.
