ALBANY, GA (WALB) - As the big three automakers state their case for a government bailout, local dealerships are trying to keep sales numbers from slipping.

It's getting harder for many people to qualify for big loans, so many dealers are offering huge discounts and incentives.

With many people worried about financing the Financing manager at Ford Town Albany said they're ready with great offers for buyers.

"Right now is the best time to buy Ford is offering the largest rebates offers ever and we're offering 0% APR on some of our vehicles", said Jessica Bishop, Ford Town Albany Finance Manager.

One study showed 81% of U.S. new-car buyers were approved for prime loans the first nine months of this year, down from 90% last year.

According to Bandon, Oregon based CNW Research, one of the nation's top auto industry tracking firms, 81-percent of US new-car buyers were approved for prime loans the first nine months of this year, down from 90-percent last year.
