Albany - The Albany State volleyball team hopes a change of scenery will change their luck in the DII regionals.
The Lady Rams did not win a match in five straight rips to the south central regional in Missouri over the last five years.
This year, the Lady Rams are in the south region.
That means much shorter trip to Tampa.
Coach Robert Skinner welcomes the new region location but one thing that won't change is the caliber of their competition.
Robert Skinner said. "All the schools in Florida are going to be extremely hard to deal with. But we are preparing ourselves and hopefully we will make a better showing in Florida than we did in Missouri."
Albany State qualified for a sixth regional appearance after winning an eighth consecutive SIAC title last week.
Albany State is the eighth seed in the eight team south regional and plays top seed and regional host Tampa on Thursday at 7:30 p.m..
