Fitzgerald - Region 1-AA flexed their muscle with a sweep in round one of the GHSA football playoffs.
One of the big wins was Fitzgerald's 39-7 win over a Charlton County team that won three state titles earlier in this decade.
It is a sign that the Purple Hurricanes are back on track after closing the regular season with two losses in their final three games.
The key to the turnaround is that Fitzgerald has gotten several injured starters back in the lineup.
Head coach Robby Pruitt says the big challenge this week is to forget about Charlton and think about Friday's opponent Henry County.
Robby Pruitt said. "Playing Henry County. They are awfully explosive on offense. They have got a lot of weapons. It is going to take a great effort. Last week, we certainly played one of our most complete games."
Fitzgerald plays at Henry County Friday night.
