Albany State defensive end Thomas Outlaw was named the SIAC defensive player of the week Monday for his performance in Saturday's 32-29 loss to West Georgia.
Outlaw, a junior from Sylvester, recorded 8 tackles Saturday, 5 of which were quarterback sacks. Outlaw is the second ASU player to receive the award this year, he joins senior Tommy Jackson who was honored for his play in the Valdosta State game.
Albany State will enjoy a bye week this Saturday before returning to conference play September 28th against Lane College.
