Albany- Special flood insurance will cover your house and your personal property. Many people don't think about protecting themselves against rising waters until it's too late.
"We've had two floods one in 1994 and the other in 1998, and we could have been the Donalsonville here in Albany and got fourteen inches of rain and then there would have been a lot of flooding," says Alfa Insurance agent Dale Hodges.
He says only about five to ten homeowners buy flood insurance each month through his agency. Hodges also says if you live in a flood zone you must have flood insurance.
