ALBANY, GA (WALB) - An endorsement Tuesday for a candidate in a Dougherty County Commission runoff. Friends, co-workers and even past teachers stood by the Rev. Henry Brown today to show their support for him.

Brown's former professor William Rice, said he supports Brown because he is honest, wants to reduce crime and clean up the environment, and he opposes consolidating the city and county governments.

Brown said, "I've heard a lot from different counties that have done that and most of them I've talked to were not pleased with it because the services the thought they were going to get is not what they are getting."

Brown's opponent, Gloria Gaines, received the most votes during the November 4th election, at 48.3%. Brown only got 30.7%, but he believes he will be able to pull the vote of Harry James supporters in order to win the seat.
