Americus - Whether she is playing with guys or girls, Southland Academy's Kathryn Fowler is one of the top young golfers in the nation.
Kathryn Fowler will take her golf game to the Southeastern Conference after signing college scholarship with the University of Mississippi.
Fowler earned all-state honors as a freshman at Southland when she finished second in the GISA state golf tournament to Russell Henley who now plays at the University of Georgia.
Fowler has been the girls low medalist at the GISA golf tournament for all three years at Southland.
Kathryn's ultimate goal is to play golf professionally one day. Right now she is looking forward to having girls as teammates next year.
Kathryn Fowler said "The tournaments I play in just throughout the year are playing against the girls. Playing on the guys team just gives a different aspect to it. It will be interesting next year to be part of an all-girls team. I have never experience that."
Kathryn Fowler has a 4.0 grade point average and is ranked third in her senior class at Southland Academy.
