Albany-- Lyman King, the losing candidate for Dougherty County Commission District 6, drops his lawsuit against the Elections Superintendent.
King sued the election supervisor Carolyn Hatcher and the voting office after some voters in his district received the wrong ballot. The mistake denied a few voters the opportunity to vote for King or incumbent Jack Stone. Stone won the race by only 39 votes.
King decided to drop the lawsuit after finding out that there were not enough people affected to change the outcome of the race.
County Attorney Spencer Lee said that King never asked for a re-count, but the voting problems made him question the race.
