Matt McCall, a pitcher on the Vikings baseball team, is going to play for the Bears.

Vikettes softball star Sarah Santana has signed a scholarship with the Mercer Lady Bears softball team.

Santana is a power hitting catcher who hit a school record eight homeruns this fall.

Matt is a promising pitcher who is coming back from ligament replacement surgery on his elbow.

Matt McCall said.  "It feels really good you know I've been really blessed throughout the whole thing. Just taking it and striding. I'm just glad to be able to keep playing baseball up in college."

Sarah Santana said. "Mercer's just a great school academically and they have a great softball team, a great program. I really like the coach and everything so I'm just excited to go there."

The Lowndes softball team finished in the elite eight this fall.

The Vikings baseball team played in the state semifinals Matt's freshman season and the quarterfinals two years ago.
