Leesburg - The November signing period sees two more Lee County High School baseball stars earn college scholarships.

Trojans third baseman Matt Aldrich has signed to play for head coach Greg Guilliams at Valdosta State.

Aldrich led Lee County in runs batted in last spring.

Matt Aldrich said "It is definitely a dream come true. I thought about it when I was a little kid. Grow up and play college baseball. It is finally there."

First baseman Andrew Tharpe signed to play for NAIA power Tennessee Wesleyan.

Tharpe is described by coaches as the hardest working athlete at Lee County and had a .372 batting average.

Andrew Tharpe said "I worked real hard in the weight room. I worked real hard hitting. I always go out there rain or shine. It is really starting to pay off."

Lee County won 22 games and the region 1-AAAA title last spring.
