School kids learn about drug police dog

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Albany elementary school students got to see a Police dog show his stuff Friday afternoon.

Ross, a six year old Albany Dougherty Drug Unit K-9, was a special guest at Lincoln Elementary School.

700 students from kindergarten to 5th grade watched as Ross pointed out an envelope with marijuana inside. His handler explained how Police K-9's work with agents to keep drugs out of Dougherty County and their schools.

This demonstration was part of Lincoln Elementary's red ribbon week. Ross is one of the drug K-9's that patrols Dougherty County Schools to keep drugs out.
