ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Natural gas prices have plummeted in the past four months. The price Albany Water, Gas, and Light pays for its gas supply has been cut in half.

Right now, they are paying $6.61 per decatherm of natural gas... slightly less than what they paid at this same time last year.

"As far as the cost of gas to heat your homes this winter, it's going to be much lower than we've seen in a while and we're looking forward to that," said Lorie Farkas of Albany Water, Gas and Light.

Of course, lifestyle plays a major part in heating costs. Farkas suggest not raising your thermostat above 68º to keep your bill even lower.
