Rams secondary bracing for Pioneer air show

November 13,  2008

Albany - The Albany State football team back in the DII playoffs for a fifth straight year.

The Rams are proud of that streak but there is one streak they want to end.

For the Rams that is winning in the first round.

Albany State has lost their last three playoff games including the last two on the road.

Albany State this week is on the road to play Tusculum from the South Atlantic Conference.

If the Rams are going to beat the Pioneers, they are going to have to stop Tusculum's high powered passing attack.

Albany State defensive back Mario Fuller said "They have got a wonderful quarterback. We are just going to have to practice each and every day on containing him. We have to know our functions as DB's to stop their receivers."

The Golden Rams defense could get some help from the Albany State offense which has scored 73 points in their last two games.

Albany State running back Gary Neavins said "I believe we are really strong right now. the defense is really coming along. the offense is going to stay together and play very hard."

Albany State plays at Tusculum Saturday at 12:00 p.m. in Greeneville, Tennessee.
