Valdosta - Valdosta State quarterback Chris Hart has been named co-freshman of the year in the Gulf South Conference along with Southern Arkansas running back Mark Johnson.
Defensive back Sherard Reynolds is a first team all-conference pick for a third straight year and defensive tackle Demario Jones also makes the GSC first team.
Linebacker Larry Dean, receiver Albert Dukes, punter Jack Fulford and deep snapper Joey Farmer made the second team.
Valdosta State hosts Carson-Newman in the first round of the NCAA DII playoffs Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at Bazemore-Hyder Stadium.
