Thomas U. soccer ready for postseason play

November 13, 2008

Thomasville - The Thomas University soccer team is excited about their second postseason trip in the last four seasons.

The Night Hawks soccer team is off to San Antonio Texas for the Association of Independent Institutions Men's Soccer championship.

The Night Hawks went 8-8-1 in the regular season and upset nationally ranked Savannah College of Arts and Design.

The Night Hawks are the lowest seed team in this four team tournament where the winner automatically qualifies for the NAIA national championship.

Thomas University men's soccer coach Ricky Zambrano said "You leave it in the hands of the players as well that they are focused every day at training and they're ready to execute the game plan that you set out to do.

Senior Cormac Finn said "I mean but that doesn't scare us too much, we've played against tough opponents all year you know West Florida we did well against them, we've done well against all these teams so we're not really that scared. Yeah we know they're tough but I think we can get through it."

Thomas University plays Simon Fraser Friday afternoon at San Antonio.
